It’s not common practice - and that’s exactly the point - we back our products long after they leave our workshop. That’s why we’re proud to offer a warranty that no other brands would.

 

PLANTR PRODUCT WARRANTY POLICY

1. Warranty Overview

Plantr products are carefully designed and manufactured to withstand demanding indoor and outdoor environments, including the extreme weather conditions common across Africa. Our manufacturing processes adhere to high-spec standards and strict quality controls, allowing us to confidently stand behind our products.

All Plantr products are covered by a limited manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions outlined in this document.

Important: The 3-year warranty applies only to Plantr planters purchased on or after 1 February 2026. Products purchased prior to this date remain subject to the warranty terms in effect at the time of purchase.

2. Warranty Periods

2.1 Standard Products (Metal & Non-Timber Components)

All Plantr products are covered by a 3-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase, provided the product was purchased on or after 1 February 2026.

Products purchased before 1 February 2026 are covered under the warranty terms applicable at the time of purchase.

2.2 Wood / Timber Components

All wood or timber elements are covered by a 1-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase.

Due to the natural characteristics of timber, variations in colour, grain, movement, and weathering are expected and are not considered defects.

3. Material-Specific Coverage

Material-Specific Coverage

Stainless Steel & Aluminium (Outdoor Products)

  • Guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years.

  • Guaranteed against corrosion for 3 years, provided correct care and cleaning is undertaken in accordance with the Plantr Care Guide.

  • Powder-coated or finished surfaces are guaranteed against defects and abnormal fading for 3 years, subject to correct maintenance.

Carbon Steel / Mild Steel (Indoor Products)

  • Guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years, provided correct care and cleaning is undertaken.

  • Finished surfaces are guaranteed against defects and abnormal fading for 3 years.

  • Carbon steel products are strictly for indoor use only.

  • The warranty will be void in full if indoor planters are used outdoors, in semi-outdoor areas, or exposed to environmental moisture.

  • Corrosion will not be covered if water spillage, pooling, overflow, or leakage occurs inside or around indoor planters.

Corten Steel (Outdoor Products)

  • Guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years.

  • Due to the nature of corten steel, which is designed to develop a protective rust patina, corrosion is not covered under warranty.

Wood / Timber Components

  • Guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 1 year.

  • Natural movement, cracking, fading, warping, or weathering caused by environmental exposure is excluded from warranty.

4. Care & Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance are essential to the longevity of Plantr products. The Plantr Care Guide must be followed at all times.

Failure to maintain products in accordance with the Care Guide will void the warranty.

5. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty will be void in full if any of the following apply:

  • Any product that has been damaged, scratched, chipped, dented, or physically compromised in any way, whether during installation, use, relocation, or maintenance

  • Any product where the coating, finish, or surface treatment has been compromised, exposing bare metal

  • Failure to clean, care for, or maintain the product strictly in accordance with the Plantr Care & Maintenance Guide

  • Damage caused by excessive chemical exposure, including fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, cleaning agents, or plant-related chemicals

  • Natural ageing, patina development, staining, runoff, or surface changes consistent with the inherent characteristics of the material

  • Self-watering liners, internal accessories, and consumable components, which are excluded from warranty

6. Warranty Limitations

This warranty does not include, and Plantr shall not be liable for:

  • Any costs associated with the removal of plants, soil, drainage material, or planting media from planters

  • Any costs associated with replanting, landscaping, irrigation, or site works, whether before or after repair or replacement

  • Damage resulting from use outside the product’s intended purpose

  • Incorrect installation, handling, relocation, or storage

  • Inadequate, incorrect, or irregular maintenance

  • Misuse, abuse, negligence, vandalism, or accidents

  • Commercial, rental, hospitality, public-space, trade, or contract use unless otherwise agreed in writing

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage incurred during transportation, delivery, installation, assembly, or maintenance

  • Used, second-hand, ex-display, or previously installed items

  • Buyer’s remorse or change-of-mind purchases

7. Warranty Claim Procedure

To submit a warranty claim, please email info@plantr.co.za with the following:

  1. Order number and proof of purchase

  2. Clear images of the full product and the affected area

  3. A written description of the issue

  4. Contact details and delivery address

All claims will be assessed within 7 working days.

If a claim is approved:

  • All returns are at the customer’s cost, unless otherwise agreed in writing

  • Return instructions will be provided upon approval

Plantr reserves the right to:

  • Request additional information or documentation

  • Obtain an independent third-party assessment or expert opinion where the cause of an issue is unclear or disputed

8. Remedies

  • Approved claims will result in repair or replacement, at Plantr’s discretion.

  • Repairs or replacements carry a lead time of 4–6 weeks from the date of approval.

  • Refunds are not offered under any circumstances.

9. General Terms

  • This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

  • Plantr reserves the right to amend this warranty policy at any time without prior notice.

  • This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, any rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
